VDJ Smooth Vasquez

Smooth Vasquez got his start in August of 1994 in Central Islip in Long Island, New York under the tutelage of his cousin and mentor, DJ Mass Appeal.  As a teenager, Smooth Vasquez learned how multiple genres of music could be blended into a musical journey using two turntables and a mixer.  From humble beginnings and through many great experiences with the likes of Deja Vu Deejays, EJtheDJ, Get In Tune, Xtreme Sounds as well as co-founding both Black Label Elite and Flyp Tha Skrypt Entertainment, Smooth Vasquez has taken the last 20+ years and mastered the art of genre hopping through the ages; taking the listener on a trip down memory lane with an eclectic mix of classics all the way through today’s hottest hits.  Smooth Vasquez is not your typical “jukebox dj.” who only plays the same old stuff you can turn on any radio to hear.  Smooth Vasquez has worked in some of the best night clubs in New York and Florida, to include Rose & Thistle, Brentwood Arts Center, Heffron’s, Planet Dublin, Eclipse, Red Light, CoCo’s, Traxx, Urban Spirit, VIP, Molly Blooms, Bamboo Bernies, Venom, Irish Viking, Arizona’s, Kodiaks, Crazy Donkey, Silks, Slim’s, TJ’s Billiards, 727, Whisky River Jax, Bluewater Island Grill, Snappers, Prana, The Lookout @ Hooter’s Clearwater Beach, Billy D’s, Bianco, Ric Jamison’s, Paradox, Hurricane’s, Typhoon’s, Hogan’s Beach Bar, Mako’s On The Rocks and others!!  Smooth Vasquez quotes that he “Does it for the love of it – no need to be famous or infamous, no need to be on TV or radio.  Music is in my soul, I feel it all around me.  I may never strike the big gig or score top pay, but a packed house rockin’ out gives me such a RUSH!!  I don’t do it for the fame or fortune… I do it for the love of it!!”
